Your Role

  • Create interior and exterior lighting within environments
  • Place and adjust light sources
  • Tweak shading materials and textures to improve lighting
  • Optimize lighting for performance 
  • Work with the Lead Artist and Art Director to achieve the best look possible
  • Engage in look-development around key surfaces and shaders to ensure lighting delivers against visual reference
  • Collaborate and communicate with a team of internal and external developers

Your Skills

  • Knowledge and use of lighting techniques for video games
  • Experience with generating light-maps, pre-lighting, or baked lighting
  • Strong sense of lighting theory including color space, exposure, light fixtures, natural light, reflections
  • Skilled at balancing visual quality against performance requirements
  • Strong understanding of Unreal engine
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good understanding of CG lighting technology, both real-time and software rendering
  • Proactive in the use of lighting as a powerful tool in gameplay clarity
  • HDR Tone mapping experience a plus
